2014 Holiday in the City...

The Holidays are gone,  and the décor is packed away. The windows of New York are one of the magic times in the city - here is my summery of the best of the season:

FAVORITE NUMBER ONE
Saks Fifth Avenue
...Brilliant idea to take the classic fairytales and make them New York City!  Love the stories - Cinderella with shoes;  Sleeping Beautify in the city that doesn't sleep, Rapunzel with her hair dresser...

FAVORITE NUMBER TWO
...Each window depicts a New York scene with beautiful Tiffany jewelry tucked into the display.  Incredible use of video and animation; video scenes, moving billboards, jumping cabs, flickering fire. Special note for the window with two men and their child...

FAVORITE NUMBER THREE
...Santa in space; visiting the planets; elves; telescopes! Who could ask for anything more -  love the ice fight between Neptune and Uranus and mini NYC with the Macy's Parade...

FAVORITE NUMBER FOUR
...Creating a style of 20's glamor, Ralph creates a winter visit to the Roaring timeframe.  Clean, simple and deco - silver and snow creates the perfect back drop for the beautiful white fashions of the season..

FAVORITE NUMBER FIVE
...This year Holiday revolves around The Arts. The main windows: Literature, with the bold red fabric motif; Architecture of blue - just like blueprints; Theatre - with amazing neon; Painting - in white, just waiting for color to be added...

AND MY LEAST FAVORITE
...In theory the idea sounds good - create a video game app that the consumer can log into and play the game on the LED screens in the windows. The reality was in observation no one was playing...
