Giddyup...

Both sides of the horse are shown in this window from Fendi.  The legs of the horse kicking the wallets and assorted handbags to the single standing mannequin.  The other side with the horses head and men's wallets.  I do like the men's side with the multi horse heads, the women's side looks lonely with a single mannequin - a few more would fill the space a little better.  Call the stable...

Summer pastels...

Pretty pastel window from Cole Haan.  Looking like colored chalk, colored plexi add color to the textured brick wall.  Nice way to showcase the footwear and handbags of summer.

Can you zip me?...

Bergdorf Goodman does a little repeat. Using a window that was created in 2011 on the 5th Avenue side, they repeated again on the 57th Street side.  Regardless, still creative and just a fun, Hundreds of zippers are used to create a net of tattered curtains to surround mannequins in summer fashion. Summer reruns are the best ...

If the mold fits...

Not really loving this window from J Crew.  Mold frame line the back of the window display the "tools" of the summer.  Nice connection to the season:  ropes for boating, lobsters, garden hoses - but think I would enjoy it better if all the molds were in color and one white versus the other way around - also if they were not falling off the wall ( side note: I think they could have been secured to the wall a little better than the use of a staple gun ) Here comes the sun!...

Urban garden...

Leave it to Anthropologie to always take creativity to the next level.  What happens when a vegitable graden grows in the urban jungle?   Anthro shows us how:  plants bursts from the street, growing in water towers, or growing in a pile of newpapers.  Giant papier mache vegistables add great texture and color and are built with beatuiful details. Love how the apparel captures the theme in color and texture. Steamed. raw or cooked?...

Rainbow sherbet...

Unlqlo creates a beautiful window good enough to eat. Bright colors for tanks, shorts, jackets and dresses celebrate a taste of summer.  Fabulous color blocked sections using hanging apparel and ice cream cones and mannequins on turntables are completed with lighting in each color. I love that each section alternates the cone/apparel - mannequin composition to keep the multi windows interesting. I only wish the ice cream cones were real props versus cardboard cutouts. How many scoops?...

The photography of women...

Bergdorf Goodman celebrates the release of the book Women in Art by Reed Karkoff. Beautiful black and white photographs from the book are mounted and hung, and a few mannequins complete the look. From Amazon: Figures of Influence features intimate black-and-white portraits of leading women in the contemporary art community. From Valentina Castellani, Almine Rech, and Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn to Dominique Lévy, Marianne Boesky, and Lucy Chadwick, each woman possesses undeniable talent, creativity, and intelligence making them prominent figureheads of renowned galleries, museums, and institutions across the globe. Complementing each image is an art questionnaire following in the spirit of Assouline's bestselling Proust Questionnaire and Fashion Questionnaire personally completed by each woman along with selected works of art. A true objet'd art, Women in Art: Figures of Influence offers a unique window into the feminine side of the art world.
