"Wear"-ing your age....

Fun, fun nostalgic windows on the 57th Street windows at Bergdorf Goodman. Looking like the team cleaned out the mannequin store room, a trip through time with different styles and forms of mannequins showcase the January latest.   Wonderful choice to add shelves to the walls adding a great texture vs. having the mannequins just standing in the window. I also like how not everyone is dressed, some just holding a handbag or accessories adds a great variation.  A delightful trip down memory lane ..

Aquamarine relections...

Without exception the windows at Louis Vuitton are certainly bold, striking, and colorful, and from afar so beautiful.  The Mylar inspired reflective panels in a bold aqua color reflect the product and mannequins beautifully. I am confused in the over all theme - there certainly does not need to be one and this can been a beautiful installation; however the large platforms, mimicking receiving pallets in gold and black - with the reflective panels- with handbags - and mannequins...?    Regardless, they are amazing to behold and the product reflects and bounces beautifully off them.  Reflect away ...

Platform swing...

Burberry continues to use the little wooden figures from Holiday into their latest window, and I still love them!  The wooden little business men, rockers with mohawks and police bobbies add such a fun little whimsy.  I love the suspended platforms adding a different spin to add height into the window to showcase the fashion and handbags.  Bobby on the beat ...

Neon convenience...

This window from Coach could not be any simpler, however it appears fun and so complex. Basic neon signage in consumer friendly words: open, 24 hr, drive thru, soda  arranged in different size create a wonderful bright colorful backdrop to the neon color handbags accessories and footwear. Great choice for the coats and apparel to be neutral, allowing the glowing product to even be showcased more.  Love how bright and glowing this window is, especially in the cold  January winter in NYC! Neon glow...

Sewing lace...

A fun window full of a lot of props at Dolce and Gabbana. Looking like a seamstress just left the room,  lace mannequins surround the Spring fashion with piles of fabric in boxes with highlights of footwear.  I really like the black fixture as a backdrop with the female bustforms on the top shelf in "storage" I love the lace mannequin on the sewing machine - looking like a ghost of past seamstress helping the latest creations.  Sew, a needle pulling thread...

The photographer is only a Witness...

Ralph Lauren creates beautiful windows using a photo shoot as inspiration showcasing elegant clothing.  Using backgrounds of photo stills, proofs, cameras, stage lighting adds a warm background for the tailored suits and the sophisticated sportswear. Love the prop use on the tables of cameras and images and even the electrical cords of the lighting adds a great texture to the window. Richard Phibbs supplied the photos used. Vertigo wood...

Prada creates a great forced perspective windows using beautiful wood grained panels on the diagonal with a nice checker board floor.   Creating a natural flow of movement, ending with a lightbox and in some cases, a LED screen, drawing the eye to focus on the elegant dressed mannequins, handbags or accessories.  Hold onto the rail...!
