"Shake" shack...

Banana Republic creates a great backdrop of shingles ( shake) that speaks to summer. The hanging apparel has a great composition and balance.  I just wish at the flagship locations the walls were real shingles and just not the photo backdrop. Shake it to me!

Tour de Levi

Levi creates a fun window with bicycle drawings on chalk boards. Add a few bike accessories, like the reflectors and helmets and what a fun summer window. The plywood backdrop creates a great organic feel, especially for a green campaign for the bicycle. Let's go for a ride!

Opening doors...

Fun side window from Bergdorf's. As simple as it gets: a black wall with white outlines to form doors. Add a few door knobs and a great stylized mannequin and you are all set.

Posen's paisley...

Huge paisley patterned cut-outs surround Zac Posen dresses in these windows at Bloomingdales. Wondering if a high gloss black on the cut-outs would give a little more texture to highlight the frocks. The mannequins look like huge female butterflies- it's fun.

Stripe it to me...

The WTW of the month! (What The Window). The window at The Gap from two weeks ago. Its a so-so window with the stripe graphics. The composition is nice, but notice the striped top -- it's PAPER!!! Little squares are taped together to make a paper top...why?  How many customers walk into the store looking for the striped top to buy.  This just was not a single store issue, but this was in every window across doors...UGH!

At the ballet...

For an H & M, this is a beautiful window. Usually displaying more value priced displays with style, this window hits: perfect composition, balance and style.  Love the large mirror, the ballet bar, the ribbon laces on the legs and the styling. First position, second position then third...

Pull my string...

From a distance this window looked like there was basket art on the walls. But these are not baskets but beautiful string art murals.  Using thick yarns and large nails of different sizes this window becomes an incredible work of art.

Flour power...

Some designer at Calvin Klein has cleaned out their kitchen. Last month tea leaves were used, this month it's baking flour.  It does have a great texture in the window, but it feels like this has more of a winter display. Wish I felt more of a connection between the apparel and the flour, at least the tea leaves matched a eastern type of connection with the home accessories.

Spell check...

Remember the game that you take one word and change a letter and eventually it becomes another word... Bergdorf's takes the word game and creates a brilliant window.  The mannequins and props are perfect. The Witch, the man, the ape, the fairy, summer, winter ...Cleaver window!

Tear sheet...

Leave it to Club Monaco to take paper sheets ripped out a binder and placed on the wall to make a great window full of texture. Love the mannequin styling especially the calf socks with the heels!
