Busy little BEE(hives)

Keeping the trend of wigs on mannequins this season. LOVE the big beehive hair!! Another great example with taking a boring graphic, adding a few props and great product. Fun Prada Madison Avenue windows.

Fall is in the air...

Fun little window for J.McLanghlin updated for fall

Madonna and hangbag...

While the visual world has taken a short cut to hang a graphic banner in the window ( thanks Gap, Inc.) there is always room to make the image exciting. A a few fun plush chairs and a divider, and a boring graphic becomes something more. Having the graphic be of Madonna always helps too.

Once you go Black....

New window from Donna Karen -- always sophisticated and clean. Although the black rock things that the mannequin are on is a bit strange...

Snow white... peacocks?

Winter is around the corned but a fun window with a dress and a few peacocks hanging out buried in the snow --- the snow bank is about 4' high

Picture perfect

The Acanthus and Reed frame store on the Upper East Side - always has fun things hanging in the window. This time different t-shirts and tickets from a local community theatre turned in a framed piece. Fun

Checkmate

A carpet store on the Upper East Side -- might be a little rough - but very clever.

Tie a yellow ribbon...

Cute little window at J. McLanghlin on the Upper East Side --- the skirt is made of multi stripes, nice little touch of ribbon spools and a sewing machine to "tie" it all together

5...4...3...2...1

Will October ever come? More progress at the Women's Ralph store --- weeks away.

"Steer" me in the direction...

always a hit or miss -- sometimes they are so-so windows and other times they are a home run. This one, a home run --sterling silver steer head pieces with the apparel "oh so draped" -- and the tie as an eye --- Simple, elegant and sexy -- just like his clothes.

Something blue...

When adding video into a window, retailers take note -- you do not have to drop a plasma into the window. A classic example of window excitement, fashion and creativity. Video installation by Jon Kessler at BG.

Cover that mirror...and your eyes!

Another mess! the mirror, the fabric, all the jewelry -- just wrong!

From the horses mouth...

Hermes -- nice and classic. although it all looks great --but what is up the starburst flying handbags?

Welcome to the Doll House /part deux

Dolls are the window accessory for Fall. Here is Barney's version. Very similar to BG -- large version/ small version -- but done just as well -- just a different twist.

No one is an Island...

Happy Anniversary Island Records!! and a window celebration as only Barney's can do!

Nothing squared...

Leave it to Calvin to have a steamy window with a few cubes! Note the depth with the mannequin inside on the balcony behind.

Houston we have contact...

Perfectly executed, not really feeling it though. BG Men's windows

so so close!

Excitement building!! The scaffolding is removed at the RL Women's store ...Beautiful

Wax...lace...and gold...

WOW! Installation by Douglas Little at BG -- as always ...speechless: The wax mannequin alone is a work of art.

Welcome to the Doll House...

Incredible window showing the exclusive Jason Wu doll available --love the large "adult"version and chalk door and the "doll version" with the chalk door- so simple so Audrey.

Garden of Earthly Delights...

The Prada windows on 5th avenue -- left over from Fashion Night Out -- but ooh so great -- a little something for everyone here. I love the male mannequin in a unitard.

Paint the town red...

Sephora's window for Fashion Night Out -- love how the city scape is made up of make-up and cosmetic tools.

Ralph at Bloomies

The Ralph window at Bloomingdale's. Rugby anyone?

On the boardwalk...

Bloomingdale's part 2 -- well the Lexington side might be ugly --- but the 3rd avenue side -- has hats off -- or is it moonshine glasses up... for Fashion Night Out and a cable tie in -- windows for Boardwalk Empire on HBO -- with live actors --- cheers!

Which way is up?

Oh Bloomingdales... a typical window for you -- bold and ugly. It does make a statement for Fashion Night Out though. Luckily when the event is over the window will come down

Up up and away...

One of the best windows at Chanel I have seen in awhile. So airy and heavenly -- although it would be better placed in December as a holiday or January as a winter window --- but fashion arrives when fashion arrives

All that glitters...

Gold seems to be a theme on 57th street this week. Miu Miu had some scary windows in their old home on Madison, but the move to mid-town was a major upgrade to their displays.
