"RED"y for the new year...

Burberry also created a window for the Lunar New Year. While staying in the thematic color of Red, nothing in the window really reflects the "snake".  They did have vinyl tag lines on the glass, but i am disappointed with the  "year of the snake" that more retailers did not create a more serpent like theme in their windows.  Not very "striking"...

Snake tail ...

Pucci celebrates the Year of the Snake - in a different twist.  Love the big oversize tail -- and that's it!!  no head, no body ---   love it !1  Great detail in the scales adding some texture and the curls are brilliant.  Great scale!...

Under the blossom that hangs on the bough..

Bergdorf Goodman's Lunar New Year window is beautiful, although not as impressive as   last year's. A perfect choice is the single mannequin, and the use of branches creating depth, and the little details of pedals on the floor to complete the theme. I will have to admit I was hoping for something big and dramatic for the Snake year, but with Cherry Blossom season around the corner, this is perfect, artistic and so fitting...

If it was a snake, it would bite you...

While the latest window maybe or may not be a tie in for the Lunar New Year, Bvlgari's windows use part of the lighted serpent from Holiday.  Celebrating the history of their Serpenti Jewelry collection, a snake like pattern is created across the glass, while the Bvlgari is cut in vinyl in a beautiful ombre pattern. I really love the pattern and boldness and great use of the holiday element ( and a great money saving idea). It's " striking"...

Union of the snake...

With the New Year just around the corner, retailers are changing their windows for the new lunar year. Bloomingdale's creates a fun series of windows with the snake. I love how the snake travels from one window to the next.  The rhinestone face is a nice touch, as not to make it scary! The legend with the history of the characteristics of those born under the snake completes the story.  SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
