Born this Holiday...

Barney's Holiday windows pay a tribute to Lady Gaga. Gagamachine features a motorcycle like Gaga with  neon lighting  that dances and blinks in the background; Gaga Constellation features a video homage montage directed by Tim Richardson; Gaga's Boudoir looks like the old windows of Barney's past with a room completely made of hair and features a very hairy gaga; Gaga's Crystal Cave features beautiful mermaid-like creatures swimming in a sea on lighted cones. speakers attached outside blast the soundtrack of Gaga's latest hit Merry the Night.  All these windows tie into the  "Gaga's Workshop" shop that has been created on the fifth floor.  I do miss the old Simon Holiday windows, but these are impressive.

When the circus comes to town...

Always bold and powerful. Louis Vuitton Holiday windows. Using the circus as the theme and a bold use of orange, pink and white; trapeze artists, seals, elephants and mice help to showcase the LV trucks and hand bags for the Holiday season.  The use of pattern is brilliant and the large oversize curtains that pile on the floor take these windows over the top. Trade in those peanuts for chestnuts!

Vintage bags...

Bloomingdale's Holiday windows! These are the best holiday windows that Bloomies has done in the past few years. The Holiday shopping bags has become a large part of the history of the store and have even become collector items. Bags from the past are displayed in the windows- then they turn or open up to reveal the next step of the scene. So Brilliant, so Clever, so NYC Holiday! The shopping bag for 2011 has been recreated with mannequins and shares it's window with celebrity ornaments displayed that will benefit the Child Mind Institute.

Hanging on a limb...

DKNY Soho. From the first glance, a nice little Holiday window from DKNY. When you look closer it is a little more abstract with the wood paneling shaped as a structure, and the floating tree limbs. I do like it, but i wish the hanging mini lights were secured a little better on the wall.
