And away they all flew like the down of the thistle...

Not really feeling this window from Gucci. The two mannequins tossing presents to each other is feels forced and is missing a sense of drama.  I want some tag line, text, 3D letters of something to fill the lower half of the window.  It's blowing in the wind...

International shipping...

Bright and colorful is this window for Ralph Pucci's Cities of the World scarf collection. Beautifully designed scarves representing six international cities: Florence, Rome, New York, Paris, Shanghai and Hong Kong. I love the stacks of boxes and display scarves and footwear. Box it up...

Hot and Cold...

Ms. Red for Holiday and Mr. Blue for New Years? ...Colors of the season and some fun neon. Lavin creates a simple bold window with some "art-like" neon and colored mannequins. I do not know what I enjoy more, the red neon running off the platform or the silver glitter around Mr. Blue.  Color in the year...

Return from a long winter's nap...

The blog is back!  After a much too long absence, here are the windows for Christmas 2014! Now with video.

Jurassic clutch...

Louis Vuitton creates an amazing summer display looking like a scene from the Museum of Natural History.  Large dinosaur bones, coated in gold plate run amuck in the windows - carrying those famous handbags in their mouths and their boney wrists. This window is so creative -- the bag placement is perfect and the mannequins add a perfect aspect for the couture. Great use of the height of these windows with the placement of a mannequin up high and the framework and the little runt of a dino above his big brother.  Jurassic Park is near...

Butterflies are free...

The glass entrance of Bergdorf Goodman on 58th street, showcases the latest handbags and uses butterflies to help.  Silk butterflies are attached on the glass, the bags and the walls. Love the little details with them around the open window.  So simple but a great impact for summer.  Use a bag, not a net ....
